Research Statement

I am interested in the diversification patterns and paleobiogeography of chondrichthyan during the Neogene. In my undergraduate and master thesis studied this group in the Temperate Pacific coast of South America (TPSA). However, the TPSA is only a region in the world and to understand the actual global changes is necessary know the global view. This is my first motivation to continue studying the Mediterranean chondrichthyan, in this region this group presented intense changes during the Paratethys and Tethys. Understand process don´t explored in detail like the extinction and origination rate, would help to know the present distribution of this group. My title project is Miocene Molasse and Paratethys Chondrichthyans in the Global Context.
